Cooling System: Scale And Corrosion Inhibitor Chemical

Cooling system scale and corrosion inhibitors are used to prevent system scaling and to minimize system corrosion to Cooling systems.  As a cooling systems reuses water, the water cycles up, water evaporates, and the water impurities in the cooling system.  As the cooling system cycles the water, a scale prevention chemical is required to keep the impurities in solution.  Failure to use an effective scale/ corrosion inhibitor, may lead to system scaling or increased corrosion.


Cooling System: Biocides

Biocides are used to effectively control bacteria.  The two grouping are non-oxidizers and oxidizers.  It is important to always feed the oxidizer continuously, while slug feeding non-oxidizers as needed.


Cooling System: Closed Loop Corrosion Inhibitors

Cooling System corrosion inhibitors are used to protect cooling systems from corrosion.  Closed Loop Chemical 338 and 338 D are buffered nitrite/borate/silicate alkaline inhibitors.  Sodium nitrite is a good metal passivator to minimize cooling system corrosion and the alkaline assists in increasing the systems pH. 

Failure to use a corrosion inhibitor may lead to excessive corrosion and premature failures to your cooling system.

Cooling Water Chemical
Cooling Water Inhibitor and Scale Prevention - 5 to 55 Gallons

Cooling Tower Chemical 1334 is designed as an all organic treatment for open, recirculating cooling water systems. The product is formulated with a combination of organic phosphonates, polymeric dispersants and an azole corrosion inhibitor specifically for systems which are operated with moderate hardness and alkalinity makeup waters. Optimum product performance is expected when the treated systems are operated in a Langelier Saturation range of +1.0 to +2.0.
Hot Water and Cooled Water Corrosion Inhibitor
Closed Loop Corrosion Inhibitor - Clear - 5 to 55 Gallons

Closed Loop Chemical 338 is a highly concentrated liquid buffered nitrite/ borate/silicate inhibitor for the treatment of hot and cooled closed water systems. The product is used in both low and high temperature systems as well as low pressure boiler systems with limited makeup water. It may be used with either hard or soft water makeup and is compatible with glycol antifreezes. It is not approved for use in USDA regulated facilities.

One gallon of Closed Loop Chemical 338 treats 100 gallons of water.
Hot Water and Cooled Water Inhibitor Chemical
Closed Loop Corrosion Inhibitor with Red Dye - 5 to 55 Gallons

Closed Loop Chemical 338D is a highly concentrated liquid buffered nitrite/ borate/silicate inhibitor for the treatment of hot and cooled closed water systems. The product is used in both low and high temperature systems as well as low pressure boiler systems with limited makeup water. It may be used with either hard or soft water makeup and is compatible with glycol antifreezes. It is not approved for use in USDA regulated facilities. Closed Loop Chemical 338D contains a P Indicator dye for ease of detection.

One gallon of Closed Loop Chemical 338D treats 100 gallons of water.
Isothiazolin
Isothiazolin - 5 to 55 Gallons

Isothiazolin is an excellent slimicide for use in recirculating cooling water systems. The product is effective over a wide pH range against a wide range of slime forming bacteria typically found in these systems.
