DESCRIPTION AND USE

Steam Treatment 1688 is a concentrated blend of three neutralizing amines, cyclohexylamine, morpholine, and diethylhydroxylamine (DEAE) for boiler water and steam boiler systems.

CHEMICAL FEEDING AND CONTROL

Steam Treatment 1688 is a amine product that is normally fed continuously to the steam boiler header of feed water line. The product may be fed neat directly from the shipping container into the system being treated. The preferred feed point is into the main steam header at a point where good distribution throughout the steam system can be assured. It can also be mixed in a chemical feed tank with the other materials required to complete the program and fed to the boiler although some loss of efficiency may be experienced. Normal materials of construction are satisfactory for the feed system. However, copper, copper alloys and aluminum must be avoided on direct feed component contact..

Steam Treatment 1688 is normally base fed depending on the amount of steam being generated. For extensive distribution systems, samples should be taken from various points in the system at least until it can be assured the desired distribution of the product is being achieved.
